“Caution” and we are back after working for exhibitions…..

“Caution” a Watercolour Sketch by Jeffy Salt 6 x 8 inches. £60. 

Having just uploaded winter work on to the website - it is time to start posting again. We have had a hectic time in our studios and not all of it has been for exhibitions. The light has been bad and on these days especially, it is good to hone drawing skills and for me to pick up and inspect watercolour brushes which always leads onto watercolour sketches. I love experimenting with cats this way because besides getting the silhouette as right as I can, it requires just enough water ratio to paint to create a fluid dark by literally dropping the paint which has the consistency of bisto gravy onto a just damp soaked surface! My palette here consisted of French Ultramarine, Burnt Umber, and Sepia. It is great fun - You try it !
